I know the science behind dopamine and how game devlopers use regulated play to keep players from getting bored, but why can't the game connect play coins? If not to buy hearts, why not turn playcoins into money? It's hard allready to gain coins, and i find that the most stable way of gaining coins through checking in.

    They want to drip-feed you gameplay and cut you off to keep you hooked. Might I ask a little more about what you know about the role of dopamine? I'm curious.

    in the brain, you have dopamine receotors. when you do something good like beat a level, it sends dopamine and makes you feel good. however, if you have too much over a short period of time, the receptors die out, meaning you get less happy feelings, aka getting bored of something. now if a game developer were to control how much you play the game, then you would never get bored of it.

    the reason they dont want you to get bored is because if you play the game, the more tempted to buy stuff with real money. its all about money. and its why mobile games do so well on the market.

    That's so interesting! And yet, so evil. Though to be real, I have gotten pretty far without spending a single dollar, so it's not all that bad. I wonder if Candy Crush was worse.

    candy crush is the most prime example of this. many people shelled out lots of money forr that game. i was really close to spending money as well in pokemon shuffle
