    I'm not sure how I feel about the new railings blocking shells and whatnot from jumping through the middle. I will say, though, that I like how the music speeds up after each lap, not just during the final lap! (I can't recall if Double Dash!! did that or not.)

    That, and the fact that the railings start glowing when you enter the final lap. However, I think it'd be neat if they started glowing when whoever's in first (whether or not it's you) entered the final lap. If that were the case, everyone in the race, no matter how far behind they are, would have a visual cue that it's their last chance to get ahead or to make first place mess up.

    Are you sure it doesn't glow for everyone once first enters the last lap? At least, I'd imagine that if a human player entered their last lap, all racers would be notified. But, I believe in Double Dash the music didn't speed up until the last lap. I like it better this way. It's kooky!

    That might be the case. I did an offline test, and the railings did not start glowing when the AI in first place entered the final lap (unless I miscounted laps). Hopefully what I suggested in my last comment DOES happen online.
