Why people complain about ssb having gameplay elements from KI:U like intensity and powers? Lots of stuff from KI:U came from ssb as well. Trophies, getting enemy trophies by hitting them with something (a power in this case) how dashing works, how you can quickly recover from hitstun if you press a button as soon as you touch the ground...
