It's official. Xenoblade Chronicles X has been released. Which means that as of now, I will no longer view any new info about the game. It's gonna be exciting when it's finally out in the states!

...in the minority. I'm pretty laid back when it comes to games; I just buy what I feel is worth the money and don't worry about what other people are saying. Some I agree with. Some I don't. With all, I stay uninvolved. But if you don't like the way things are going, it seems to me that the best course of action would be to make your opinion heard as well.

Finally, I fail to see how any of this relates to where I decide to make my post. I understand you having a problem with the groups you mentioned previously if you disagree with their vocal requests. But what on earth have I done? And why is simply posting here in general so bad? Especially when, getting back to your argument about vocal opinions, we already know the game is coming, so this has...

You haven't done anything wrong. Also, narcassistic is not a word that is inaccurate. It does have a strong meaning attached to it though. I don't voice like voicing my opinion though social media. I rather do it by what games I play.

I'll probably end up playing this game before the first, but that's not a bad thing.

I have to say I'm leaning towards Nintenoer here. There's nothing wrong with posting in onther regions community if it's the closest one to the topic, as was the case here. As far as Codename Steam goes, it's financial outcome is disappointing, but I highly doubt the people who want a sequel later are bashing it now. It's the concept of vocal minorities.

Again, I am sorry if this comes across as rude, as that is not my intention. But if you feel so strongly about the influence of vocal gamers on today's games, why sit on the sidelines and just complain about it? Nothing will be solved by doing that. You mentioned speaking through your sales actions, and I have to strongly agree there. It definitely seems to me that a game's or system's sales...

...speak much, much louder to a company than the various opinions you see on a gaming site, Earthbound being an exception to this. Honestly, I don't think worrying about it is really worth it. Just relax and enjoy yourself on Miiverse. Who cares if North Americans post on the Japanese XCX community?

@ShadowLink Neither have I. But I haven't been looking either, so...=P @Sciz That's fine, the two aren't supposed to be related. Although, without looking at spoilers for this game, I do have a little theory... @Matthew Another good point. I feel like it's the same way with the infamous "Zelda Cycle". The appearannce of the fanbase as a whole changing their opinions with each passing game...

...is nothing more than an illusion, generated by a highly vocal minority expressing their negative opinions about each new game. Same phenomenon, different group each time.

I am confused on how this topic got onto negative gamers. Just enjoy and the games you like and talk about them, and if you disagree, do it in a friendly and respectful way.

I'm...not sure. I just wanted to mention my current position with regards to XCX, haha.

Without knowing your theory or anything but an only slightly spoiled version of the plot of Xenoblade Chronicles, I believe our theories are at least in the most basic sense similar.

Re: the topic of posting in communities from other regions: in this increasingly interconnected and cross-cultural-dialogue-filled world, separate Miiverse communities for separate regions makes as little sense to me as region-locking different games to different regions. Sure, in each case there's the whole language barrier issue, but I've found that trying to work my way around it can often...

...be a fun learning experience! Also, I haven't seen any actual Japanese people show up yet to agree with Aaron... Personally, if the tables were turned & a bunch of Japanese gamers invaded a community for an American game I liked, begging for a localization in Japan, I actually wouldn't even mind; in fact, I'd be kinda tickled to see that my gaming tastes were shared across cultures like that...

Aaron, I went back to read through this discussion, and I noticed that I was being a little harsh. I apologize for that, I got a little out of control. I just want to let you know that I respect your point of view, and, even though we don't agree on some things, you had a very solid argument. I thank you for the discussion; it was an enjoyable one. For me, at least.
