Mewtwo Doesn't Suck! An Analysis of the Genetically Engineered Pokemon

From what I have seen, people are quite arrogant to change and stick to the past, and there's that with Mewtwo. Being incredibly shunned by people, Mewtwo seems to have a weak vibe...or does it? This is a call out to all the people, I am here to prove to the world, that Mewtwo is worthy of being a major threat.

  • Overall, Mewtwo is very good in many areas, but he is light, from one fully charged side smash from Bowser could ko at 50%,but don't fret! Mewtwo in the right hands is an absolute nightmare, and is very effective against heavies such as DK, Ike, or even Bowser or can even get on top of Mario from time to time. Mewtwo takes skill, so if you wanna learn, be ready for loads of excitement!

  • @Ben for Mewtwo, Confusion is a great spam move, it forces opponents to switch to another option, but if your opponent is vulnerable to Shadow Ball, use that instead.

  • I'm glad they brought Mewtwo back. I remember playing as him a ton in Melee, but I find that I'm not as good with him as I was, so I had to practice a bit more. Same with the changes to Roy.

  • Mewtwo was MUCH better in Melee, and that's saying something coming from a Brawl fan. His Up throw could KO at less than 100%, his Shadow Ball Could hurt foes while it was charging up, disable could launch foes that are already stunned, and he had a LOT more launch resistance. The only noticeable improvements he has in this game are his Jab launches, confusion completely reflects projectiles...

  • but that's debatable in certain situations(glares at the Master Shadow) and has 2 more taunts. The drawbacks just really outweigh the improvements, and it doesn't take Bowser to KO him at fairly low percentages.

  • Mewtwo's speed buff made him 5x better. In the right hands, Mewtwo is a huge threat.

  • @Naruto, sorry but I'm gonna have to disagree. Mewtwo in here is FAR better than in Melee for multiple reasons. First off, Mewtwo has far more ko options, he also is faster and stronger, and to counter your up throw argument, the weight system was diffrent in Melee than Smash 4.

  • Keep in mind that lots of people were aware of this, and that's why I don't like him in this game. He does not feel faster at all to me, and I tried mastering him in this game back when he came out as DLC, but it didn't happen. In Melee he was one of my favorite characters.

  • As for Little Mac, he was never unbeatable, and I feel like he should have bad recovery OR bad air game, not both, and he's not the best on the ground like Palutena says he is.

  • He's an okay fighter. Nothing very exaggerated.

  • In my opinion, Mewtwo doesn't suck, but he's also not great either. His play style is labeled as a glass cannon, and i can see the glass part, but not so much the cannon. He has lots of KO power, but not enough confirms and combos to be considered a cannon. His aerial mobility are great, but his aerials just don't naturally combo into each other. He is floaty, so he doesn't have fast move output.

  • This makes him a relatively unsafe character as he relies more on stray hits rather than combos to rack up damage. Though I will agree he does have some untapped potential and I look forward to Mewtwo mains pushing the limits of the character.
