    You can take a pic of the QR code with a camera, like your phone or basically anything as long as the code isn't blurry. So after you take a pic of the code on the other appliance, you can use your 3ds to scan it through the town hall in Tomodachi Life. I was a bit lazy scanning QR codes at first, but now it's a lot of fun! ^_^
