Does trial need to be downloaded for full game to work?

I have my save data for the trial, but deleted the software. Probably a dumb question, but can the full game work or do I need the trial still downloaded?

    I'm not sure, I upgraded on day one, without completing the trial. I think your purchase converts it to the full game. I never had two files, but had to start with the trial.

    i think you have to have the trial in order to get the full version, or you can join in on operation zero in our campaign to get the game released in a physical format. when everyone bans together nintendo will give us the game in physical. #GiveUsTheDisc #WeWantFatalFrame #GiveUsFatalFrame #OperationZero
