Why don't people fight?

I've gone in to games in free for all were people don't fight at all, what's the reason for this? Is this some sort of cheating?

    It's camping. They think they'll win by doing nothing (->no ko's, no falls) Some of them do it just for fun.

    because doing nothing in a fighting game is more fun, we can make friends with others and anyone that chooses to fight will just get 3v1'd til they leave resulting in all the enjoyment of FFA to be lost for that 1 player who just wanted to actually play the game

    all jokes aside, just use the report button when you encounter these kinds of players, or avoid the mode altogether. doing nothing in ffa lobbies has been a trend since brawl unfortunately

    They want to play defensive and the game rewards that… but anyways, to avoid 3v1s and apparantly make friends. Aside that, avoiding online is important.
