Unpopular Sm4sh Opinions

1. I don't mind clones. 2. I like tier lists. 3. Smash Tour is fine. 4. Tourney Mode is awful. 5. In the future, I don't think Mario will be top 6, because his move set is basic and I don't see him evolving in the meta anytime soon. 6. I think Ness could be 8th on the tier list now, because he placed 5th at Genesis 3, and Genesis is the 2ND BIGGEST SSB4 Tournament.

  • These are placed in a random order.

  • Smash Tour is fun, but only if you have friends to play it with. It's boring if you are playing alone.

  • Diddy is mid tier for many reasons but ZeRo still kicks butt. Placement with only one player is nothing. It is fair to call out controversial attacks (i.e. Sheik's Disappear) but it's all evolved around the player and not the character, which is why I never believe in tiers.

  • No, Diddy isn't a mid tier. He has a better grab than Sheik's, amazing juggling, great neutral, he's short, he has good frame data, combos, kill set-ups, and tech chases. He placed 3rd at Paragon LA thanks to MVD. I think he's top 11.

  • This'll be a really opinionated and subjective argument, calling it. Bad characters can place high in tournaments. All characters can beat another if they own the knowledge to succeed in it. Shulk has very low landing lag and his hurt boxes are large, but you still can't do much with them at all.

  • Diddy is top tier. He's just not broken. Also, Mario's combo game is insane and he is definitely one of the best character in the game, especially if Anti can 6-death ZeRo from one grab.

  • Well, tiers actually do exist, because every character has their own unique move set, pros and cons, and match up spread.

  • Things that are the most important for a good character is frame data and recovery. Samus has nothing good going. His recovery is decent, but everything else is...ew

  • @Vinson I do agree that Mario is one of the best characters.

  • @tbi Low tiers have won tournaments, you're right about that. They've placed high at locals, but they don't do so well at nationals

  • I think any of the Zelda characters who were made into new assist trophies would have worked as playable characters, even Skull Kid.

@Curtis Yes! I can't believe that not one of those three characters didn't make it to the playable roster!
