I think the Wii Fit Trainer is underrated.
I think she/he has potential, but lacks the representation. I would love to see more Wii Fit Trainers in tournaments.

I think you can apply "has potential but is underrepresented" to most characters... The problem is that there's an obvious ceiling, and sure you can probably show that an average character is slightly better than people think, but you might as well stick to top tiers if you want to win. THAT'S why a lot of characters that aren't amazing end up lacking representation.

She actually has as much as potential as any other characters. She's just too underused. She has good aerials, two great projectiles, and some strong finishers. Especially after deep breathing. She's also a formidable spiker. She does have 3 meteor smashes. She also have s advantage against roll spammers due to having a second hitbox in most of her attacks.

also sonic and duck hunt are more unused now. i haven't seen a single duck hunt since cloud came. No sonic's either. i think sonic and duck hunt players are becoming more rare than olimar players. Along with wii fit trainer since i've only seen him once for 2 days

Her hitboxes are painfully small, since she has to hit people directly with her limbs. (Her hitboxes aren't disjointed). Her frame data is also very sub-par, and gets rushed down by a lot of characters, which is why a lot of Wii Fit Trainers resort to zoning and ledge gimmicks with soccer ball. She also doesn't get much out of throws, and doesn't have any reliable kill confirms.

If you really thing Wii Fit Trainer is as amazing as you say, then by all means, go to a tournament and show everybody how it's done, don't just ask for more people to user her.

Well, Wii Fit Trainer is a character you have to be patience with. You need to use her hitboxes correctly to punish rollers and recoveries. Her off stage is still pretty strong, and her aerials are good for racking up damage.

You basically are. You'd love to see more in tournaments, and you're saying if more people used her she'd supposedly be amazing. You've also stated numerous times that she lacks players (reps). All of these things imply that you simply wish more people to used her. Also, "you just have to play them right" is one of the most vague and overused arguments in the history of fighting games.

I was just saying my thoughts. I think you're just taking it the wrong way. The "You just need to play it right", as overused as it might be, is usually true. Some "low tier" characters I've seen do have potential to have some decent tournament results. Wii Fit Trainer is, in my eyes, one of those characters.

The real question is, what does Wii Fit Trainer do that another character can't do better? That's what players ask themselves when deciding what character they want to use in a tourney. Just because a character has tools and some good traits doesn't mean they're great. You have to look at them in terms of the entire roster. That is the main issue.

I am looking at her in terms of the entire roster. I admit, there a some characters that are better than her...but that can be said to almost all other characters too.

When you use the "you have to play them right" mentality, you're literally just basing it on personal bias. When you don't have hard evidence to support your opinion, you can't really make objective claims like you are making. Is Wii Fit Trainer awful? I don't think so. Is she better than she's portrayed? Absolutely. But it's naive to think any character can take tourneys "if played right".

In this game, I believe every character can be strong if played right. It's just how I think. To me, tiers are silly. Every character has strong potential, you just need to learn more about them. Especially "low tiers".

Well the problem with characters that are objectively worse is that the more you know about them, the more you can exploit their weaknesses. All that aside, I didn't know you didn't believe in tiers. If that's the case, your mind obviously isn't going to change. If your argument is "it's just how I think" then there's honestly no reason to even continue this discussion. Have a nice day.
