need suggestions

i've been maining doc mario for a minute, and while he has taught me and helped refine my fundamentals, i want a character with something more. i want a technical character that takes a far longer time to optimize than doc. a character that requires you to lab'em out for hours and stuff. but they need to be rewarding, no shulks or w/e.

    See try peach she is very good she has good smashes, a counter, Vegetables are good for doing combos, etc. You can also annoy your opponents with her aerials. IMO she takes skill to play but once you know all about her it will be very good.

    peach is actually a good choice objectively, but i don't like her as a character. too girly lol. and if it's kinda hard to interpret what i'm asking, think of this: i want a character that's pretty much a 'sandbox.' a character that has TONS of stuff to work with. think melee fox or something and i appreciate the care to help me on this <3 :)

    Well Peach is my main and I enjoy using her but well another one should be Pikachu or Kirby both are great for doing combos even aerials and since both are fast and tiny, you can avoid some attacks easily...
