One major improvement between the Red Pollen Orb sidequests in Xenoblade Chronicles and the few in Xenoblade Chronicles X is that there's actually a non-subjective reason for their use being discouraged; that being that in X they cause lethargy and sluggishness, therefore drastically decreasing productivity.
