Competitive Links...

I have a question. Do competitive links normally just spam arrows at the end of the stage and "call in zoning"?

  • Good to know. I fought someone a minute ago while using bowser (because I main him obviously) I could barley even get to him because he used the arrows every 2 seconds.

  • Some really annoying ones smam upsmash. Also, jump over the arrows and use your fire when you get close. But not to close or you'll get caught in an upsmash

  • If he's spamming arrows and camping my the ledge with Bowser, approach him and always be ready to shield. Like shield and run closer to him. After you get close enough, he will either dodge roll or grab. Be prepared for that and punish. That Link player was not zoning, he was spamming. Zoning is when you make set ups and play very safely and spacing yourself. He wasn't spacing, just camping.

  • I go to local tournaments and have fought some of the best Links in my city. Of course they don't spam arrows. They tend to go in and back out a lot more. Also, idk if you know this but Bowser's up throw can combo into up air, up tilt, up smash, or neutral air. His up+b out of shield is also amazing for approaching.

  • I play Link/Toon Link a lot, and I notice I'm really bad with aerial game. Bowser's down B could help fighting Link, if that's a general weakness. Shield or dodge arrows if you can (spotdodge in air, rolldodge to cover distance) and if possible, grab/use super armor/a quick move.
