Yeah that makes him easy to combo but it really helps with his speed

Personally, if he were given at least one more kill set up, then I'd think he'd be solid. Fox ain't bad, but he's a glass cannon. Playing against most characters who know what they're doing can be tough when your only kill options are an Up-smash or an Up Air. Up air requires a tough read, and so does the up-smash, and it can be punished hard.

@Collin Fox is the 6th lightest character in the game :,) Not even close to the heaviest. Fox is definitely a glass canon, but pretty good. Part of the problem might be that he (and falco) require a ton of precision to play which is a pain on laggy fg. Fox's back air is also a decent kill option I believe? I don't play Fox but he and Falco both share the weakness of struggling to get the kill

To be honest, I find playing as Falco to be better because it just seems safer for me. That and his hit box for his F-Air lasts forever (I swear, like when he lands with it the thing is still active. Maybe I'm crazy or...) And there's a lot of factors about him worth considering. I think Fox is just better when it comes to rush down.

@Pete yes! Falco's fair has a landing hitbox- messes opponents up all the time. Also is nair and fair are (against most characters) are safe on shield if you jab right after. I would consider fox the better character, as he's faster, has actually useful lasers, and better kill setups/frame data- but not better by too much. I obviously feel safer with Falco too as he's my main lol. They're both-

-very deep characters actually that don't get enough attention imo. Fox does get higher tier placement usually, but I hardly ever see him online or in tournament, and Falco is disregarded completely (although I agree he's pretty meh)

Lol, yeah! I've actually seen more Fox Rep than I have Falco, even though it's still kinda small. Fox to me is probably like bottom 15, maybe even 20. He just has the tools to screw up most mid-low tiers for sure, like how he can fast fall his F-air into an Up-smash, or go for a jab-lock with his side-tilts. If I were to think of any other weaknesses he had, it'd probably be-

Attacking on shield. I mean it's definitely not an exclusive issue, but it turn most of his moves like his down air into situational ones (I seriously wish it had less lag) And I'm used to auto-canceling down airs, so that just makes it painful for me :'D

Turns* Well actually... the only move that'd be situational /is/ his down air. The other is his dash attack, but that's only good for reading a tech. And if you know you're gonna get a follow up

Falco sometimes has a good setup on Ganon,DeDeDe,Bowser, and DK from 0%-30% that can combo into meteor smash if your lucky. Down tilt→fast fall N-air→short-hop F-air→to D-air if they don't air dodge quickly or fastfall. Down tilt can be substituted with an up-tilt if necessary.
