    I'm sure it's actually not a glitch. I used superflat settings to edit layers. However, the highest layer, where the grass blocks are, are still the spawning point for mineshafts, which were enabled. Thus, this occurs.

    ive seen something similar to this on the pc version. did you know (on the pc version) you can naturally generate strongholds aboveground with special superflat seeds?

    Yeah, I've got this before on one of my worlds. Superflat does some interesting things with underground sturctures, that's for sure. XD @Ben: Strongholds can generate above ground in superflat in this version too. It looks even more amazing than the mineshafts do. XD

    @Drew I already put lots of fencing, new bridges, little houses with 3x3 interiors, little carrot-and-potato gardens, one bigger house with 5x5 interior, and one big garden to replace a huge gap with wheat and nether wart. There's this one entrance that is difficult to find in this town-on-stilts that leads to the second layer, with the only fencing around this small area with four pillars.

    The second layer of the town, with the pillar game, has torches around, however, and has only half as much sections as the first layer. The third layer, however, has no fences, of course, but not even torches, either. It is unreachable, and mobs will spawn there at night.
