Mr. Shimomura's work is amazing and never fails to inspire. Hey Alpha Dream, have you ever considered making a Wario RPG in the style/world of your Mario & Luigi games? There are more than enough gameplay concepts, story elements, characters, and settings to draw inspiration from between the Wario Land games, the WarioWare games, and Super Mario Land 2. It could be fun, hilarious, and fresh.

It's rather entertaining that mutiple people join up for this interview. If I met a paper form of myself, I would be wonderously surprised. It wasn't mentioned in the interview, but I'm most excited on how Nabbit will provide some of the Bros. attacks in the game. I haven't played a Mario & Luigi title since Bowser's Inside Story back in 2009, but I look forward to playing this new entry soon.

They seem to have forgotten about there already being 4 characters to control in Partners in Time... well, technically 2 at a time since the Baby Bros. ride Piggyback on their older counterparts, and are used separately for certain puzzles, so technically 2 sets of 2 characters in PIT. The Final Boss' animations are so smooth and awesome! One of the best final bosses in the M&L series.

Why did you guys decide to limit the Paper characters to just the counterparts of the "real world" characters. In my opinion, a huge opportunity was lost to add memorable characters from the Paper Mario series. Goombella, Watt, Mimi, Kerst- okay, not HER, but you know what I mean.

Ryan, they said no original characters from either series to not clutter the story. Adding them just for the sake of them appearing would just be a waste of time.

Next time add Paper Luigi as a playable character. I hate it how he's always left out. Bowser, Toad, and Peach aren't more than important Luigi. Luigi was made first. He's the second most important character in the series.

@Doof: Oh... Well that's pretty stupid. They didn't put in the characters because it would "clutter" the non-existent "story"? Are you kidding me? Not even for fan-service? They couldn't even add Popple to play the role that Nabbit plays. It's pretty lazy if you ask me.

Don't get me wrong, I love this game, 9/10, but still... The decision to make the environments and characters as diverse as Sticker Star (which they got a lot of flack for) is extremely baffling and dissapointing.

Guys....are we just going to ignore the fact that Luigi's bottom was just casually discussed in an official Nintendo interview?

But more focused, at first i wondered if Paper Luigi's lack of an appearance meant he had become Mr L again, and would be one of the (final?) bosses. Although, i'm fine if it's not this way after all, because i think if it was, my heart would break! Poor Luigi!

I just beat the game and it was totally 1000% worth buying.I have been following the series since I was about 6 years old when superstar saga came out on the game boy. This is the best game in the series by far. It blew dream team out of the water!

Thanks for telling us why there is no RPG characters in Paper Jam, thankfully it was not because of Shigeru Miyamoto, which means there's a higher chance of RPG characters in M & L 6 then Paper Mario 5.

Wait, wait, wait, hold the phone! Your reason for not adding Paper Luigi because four buttons would be too confusing directly contradicts the gameplay of Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. That game let you use all four buttons to control Mario, Luigi, and their baby versions of themselves. If it was because of technical limitations, I can understand that.
