I think you might be wrong about MGS PO. Didn't Kojima say it himself that it wasn't canon? & I definitely don't think Konami should make another MGS game but they can continue with MG Rising if they want! Only thing I want left for MGS is a DLC for mission 51 in MGS 5. I still can't believe how unfinished the game is!

@lunch box and Angel Whoa, I don't know how I missed your comments. Anyway thanks guys. And Angel, you definitely need to play the 2D games. @James MGS:PO is tricky. Kojima said in an interview that although he doesn't necessarily include it in the canon, it is still "acknowledged as canon." So in way I'm right and wrong. The ones that aren't canon are Ghost Babel and the MG Acid games.

@James And regarding the future of MG games, Konami plans to continue, but who knows how that'll go. The MG Rising game was very fun, but was just a different experience, so I can picture them going that route. And yes, I would've loved to see that completed Mission 51, but the lead script writer said the story was basically done. I was still hoping to see Big Boss actually in Outer Heaven.

I'll agree with you on that. I wanted to see Big Boss in Outer Heaven as well. I was basically expecting the end of MGS 5 to be the beginning of MG 1. & because of that, was hoping we'd see or at least HEAR Solid Snake talk with none other than the voice of David Hayter! Was mainly hoping that for my friend cause Sutherland cast over Hayter was the biggest negative of the game for him.

As for me, it didn't bother me cause Sutherland was cast as Big Boss. Not Solid Snake. & as we're all aware, Big Boss's voice did change when we saw him in MGS 4 so it was appropriate that they cast someone else as Big Boss for MGS 5. Anyways, it would've been nice if the ending did go into the beginning of MG 1 cause that would've hinted to MG 1 & MG 2 being remade. That's a pipe dream now...

@Angel Awesome. And for a beginner to 2D Metroid games, buy this one. It's pretty average and is a remake of the original. James Exactly! I too was expecting the story to move towards right before MG, even though we kind of did with that cassette tape revealing the "phantom." Notice how the B-side of the tape said "Operation Intrude N313," which was Solid Snake's first mission.

@James And for the casting, I actually loved Sutherland's acting as Big Boss, but yes, keep Hayter as Solid Snake. The game itself did link to the 8-bit games, but there's still a wide gap of what exactly Big Boss was doing during MGSV towards the Zanzibar Land incident from MG2:SS. I guess only time will tell what Konami does with Metal Gear's future.

If I recall (meaning "don't quote me on this") Kojima said he had no plans to remake MG1+2, I'm assuming because they show how MG got started. I will be right back after I look it up again.

@Mugen K No worries, I won't quote things, but you're right. Kojima just wanted the story to finish and just leave the series as it is. If I remember correctly, he wanted to stop after working on MGS2:SOL, but he was pressured/convinced to do MGS3:SE and onward, so he wasn't interested in doing other projects like that. And let me know if you find anything.

Spoilers! For Metal Gear Solid 5! Anyway, in MGS5, you play as big boss, but not the real one, his phantom. Is that right?

@Piggy Yes. The Big Boss you play as in MGSV is a body double, and is the one you apparently face in the original Metal Gear. During the events of MGSV, the real Big Boss is elsewhere gathering everything he needs to begin building his military nation, Outer Heaven.

@Piggy You're welcome. And "phantom pain" is actually a medical term that basically means when you can almost feel a body part you've lost, like losing an arm, tooth, etc. But it's a great title for the game's plot and themes.

@Piggy Careful not to spoil it for others, but yep. Those are some of the things that add onto the "phantom pain" in Venom Snake's journey.

I'll agree with you on your previous comment about MGS not being the same without Kojima. But than again, if Konami did decide to go ahead & remake MG 1 & MG 2, than I don't think they'd need Kojima since it'd be a remake & the foundation for the story will have already been set.
