My thoughts on NX rumours.

I honestly do not believe that a Smash bros game is coming this year mainly because first it would be kind counterproductive to have said game being released when Smash 4 was finished recently, second just because a rumour is supposedly from a 'credible' source does not in any ways whatsoever make it true.

    If it's true, which I think it is, it's most likely a port of Smash Wii U. Not a brand new Smash Brothers.

    Its probably true. It will not be a new game but SSBWiiU ported over to NX, include the DLC characters, and add more new content. This can all be achieved by the time the NX launches, they never stated it would be this year just that it would be a launch title.

    While it's definitely possible that the rumor is false, Nintendo needs to sell people on the NX. If it's indeed launching this year as rumored, then Smash is an excellent system seller. If it's a port with more content and altered Challenges, then that's fine, but I think it would be a slap to the face if it included the DLC content. It wouldn't be any better than the GOTY editions WB releases.

    @ Aeon : New content would likely indeed be a slap in the face of fans in my eyes, especially if somehow there would be new characters that would be available only on said rumoured port and not on the 3DS or WiiU versions. :/

    He said slap in the face if the DLC characters came with game. There will likely be newcomers and it wont be a slap in the face as this game will not be connected to 3ds and Wiiu. They can add everything in it that they couldn't with the other 2 due to technical difficulties.
