Favorite game series?

Out of these game franchises listed (all of which have a representative included as a playable fighter in Smash), which is your favorite and why?     Definitely Mario. To me, Mario games more than any others are just the purest form of silly, lighthearted fun. Plus there are so many different types of games - 2D platformers, 3D platformers, RPGs, kart racers, sports games, and more. So many of my favorite games are Mario games.

    Sonic without question is the best series I've ever played. Sonic 2 on Genesis is 2D platforming perfection imo, with Mega Man coming fairly close behind. In terms of raw play time though, Pokemon trounces everything. 450+ hours on Y, 400+ hours on Pearl, 250+ on White, 150+ on Emerald, and much more.
