Even if you don't like the name Cross as a placeholder for Xenoblade Chronicles X's avatar, I don't see how anyone could defend the use of the name "Rook" for them. Sure, some characters in cutscenes refer to them as that, but that's because it stands for "rookie" (what your character is in terms of BLADE at the start of the game) and it's impossible to voice-act every possible name that (cont)

    (cont) the player could choose for their character. Besides, some NPCs, for example Bates, are also referred to as "Rook" from time to time, so referring to the avatar as that would be misleading even in-universe. Sorry, just had to get that off my chest.
