How to fix boot up issue with new DLC

Is Corrin or Bayonetta not showing up on your rosters? That's due to an update requirement. How to solve this is take out the Smash Disc and put it back in, leave responses if this helps. (This help is only for the Wii U installment, for 3DS, I'm sure you do the same thing with the card, because I don't have the 3DS installment.)

    also try going to online mode (in smash ) it will say you need the update , restart smash and it will start downloading the update ;)

    This was it for me. You have to go to the menu, remove the disc and then upon relaunching from the wii u menu it should initiate the update.
