Then when people can't come up with logical responses, they fall back on "Well, you don't have to buy it" which is completely avoiding the subject altogether. I don't mean to attack or offend you directly Eric, and I apologize for the massive wall of text. I'm just trying to address your (and others') points as thoroughly as possible.

Just because nobody asked for Corrin doesn't mean that's a bad reason to add him. And NOBODY? Japan wants a word with you. I remember even western fans voting for Corrin after E3. Still you can't avoid that classic characters aren't promoted. -virtual console -masterpieces (which is CLASSICS ONLY) -The 3 retro fighters put in this game -The several retro stages in the 3ds version

@Vennek Jr: And that's precisely the problem I'm addressing. Brawl had a good amount of newcomers from a variety of IPs. SSB4 didn't, which is why people like myself complain about it. You've yet to actually make any real argument for why Corrin was a good choice. Instead, you opt to ignore legitimate complaints and sidestep the issue altogether or rely on personal bias.

I personally couldn't care less for Metroid or Zelda as a series, but they definitely should've gotten at least 1 newcomer this game. Instead, we have FE (a relatively niche franchise) getting 3 new characters and a returning veteran. No matter how you look at it, FE didn't need 6 reps in this game. There really aren't any legitimate reasons in favor Corrin being added.

Like I said before, it's absolutely fine if you like Corrin. I'm just saying that from an objective standpoint there was no reason for Corrin to be added to this game aside from promotional purposes and even then there were other, more viable choices (a Zelda rep for Zelda U or Twilight Princess HD, Sylux for Metroid Fed.Force, or Wolf for StarFox Zero).

Well if people complained about FE let alone sword fighters during development, then he specifically picked the both things people complained about the most. It is a known topic way before it got released. But alas he wasn't picked because of votes. And this is where the criticism comes in.

Im not avoiding that characters are being "promoted or advertised" but you make it seem that all characters are trying to sell something. But you see when you mention FE this is what exactly comes to mind. When Rob, G&W or any classic stars are mentioned, is more of Nintendo's lost past.

I have a feeling that Sakurai likes FE.I know It's his game but I wished if he add character from LoZ,SF,or Metroid.If Sakurai likes Intelligent System then he can add guy from Advance Wars,Denpa Man or Paper Mario.

(↑that was a joke) "Complained about swordfighters" -There's more BRAWLERS in this game -Corrin barely uses his →chainsaw← anyway "Complained about FE" BEFORE Corrin? No, it was the opposite. People were BEGGING for Roy to return and praised his inclusion. People who criticized were… -Salty it wasn't their character -Thought Roy was STILL Marth clone -Complained for swordfighters (more BRAWLERS)

Are you complaining from a competitive or casual view? You vent your frustration over Chorrin as a choice, bringing up the overwhelming number of Fire Emblem characters in the game. From this viewpoint, don't buy a character you don't want. Nobody is "forcing" you to buy this optional DLC. However, then you complain about needing the character to keep up with the meta game (cont. in another post).

Competitively, one could complain about being forced to buy the character to truly understand them, which is a valid point. However, you seem to be switching back and fourth between being upset from a competitive or casual view. Assuming your speaking casually, we don't deserve anything. DLC is optional done purely for the fans. Seperate from the final product, it was done PURELY for the fans.

Would you have rather gotten nothing instead of Chorrin? Who wins in this scenario? Would have rather not gotten any DLC? No. Just because YOU aren't happy with the DLC choices doesn't mean that nobody is. Plenty are happy because they find the character fun, but you seem completely unable to accept that others hold opinions different from yours.

By the way, I agree that there were plenty of other choices that would have been better than Chorrin. However, unlike you, I simply enjoy the fact that we even got DLC.
