    Due to the time of her encounter with the Spearow that blinded her being while her eyes were still developing, It's physically hard and painful for Lunar to shed tears. Due to this, when she does cry, her eyes become very irritated and she can only shed a few tears at a time. Lunar only cries either when someone she was extremely close to is near death or has died or when she's genuinely deeply-

    touched by something someone has said (see my favorite post on Miiverse (as of now) for example). When and if someone dies, even if she knows it's not the right thing to do, Lunar will prefer to be isolated and alone for a short while so that everyone won't see their friend and second-in-command cry.
