Littlefoot.

We needed Littlefoot in because he was planned to be in every SSB games but he got taken out due to time constraints. He wasn't allowed to be in the Original due to a console rivalry between Nintendo and SEGA. The Land Before Time is owned by SEGA. The Great Valley was gonna be a stage but got scrapped out. Hopefully Littlefoot and the Great Valley stage happens for the future.

    Dont tell any one, but I heard from my uncle that works at nintendo that when the NX launches Iwatas last wish will be granted and every single nintendo franchise will just be littlefoot.
