Bayonetta is definitely better in the air than she is on the ground. I have some interesting tips for this character. Play the mind game. You have to be in the air most of the time and know how to get your opponent in the air. Side b in the air can lead to a follow up regardless if it miss or not. If it hit, you know your follows, if it miss, follow with a back air. Also, her up smash....

  • You can use her up smash to jump cancel reverse it for spacing for incoming opponents. They wouldn't expect it so it's good to utilize it. If you know how to reverse Mario's up smash, then doing that is the same with Bayonetta, except it's for spacing purposes only.

  • One last thing. Bayonetta's standard special can be canceled with Shield. You know what that means? It means she can jump right out of it, perform an aerial out of it, and my personal favorite, up smash out of standard b.

  • Not at this moment. I'm still labbing her until I find every single viable options.

  • Her up smash has a large cooldown though. Missing with it is very punishable. I personally use it very sparingly unless I see an opening. I agree with everything else though. Although her forward special on the ground can be verrrry useful.

  • I mean spacing dude. If you space yourself if an opponent is chasing you, you could reverse the up smash and punish since it's unexpected.

  • Ehhh but that's not entirely true either. I've tried doing that and almost EVERY time an opponent attacks, it overrides the up smash entirely. And then, punish. So you have to hope they don't throw out an attack. Yes, it can be good for spacing if you time it right. From what I've gathered, it doesn't have priority like most smashes do. Which makes it a pretty big risk.

  • I'm talking about jump cancel reverse up smash. I'm saying if an opponent is chasing you, run away from them and reverse your up smash because that would manipulate the opponents positions for attacking too early and gets strike. Do I need a video demonstrating it?
