Super Smash Bros. Brawl

Why is this game considered the "worst of the series" by the masses?

  • Mostly because it isn't as fast paced as Melee, though if you were to ask me, that's no reason to hate on a game.

  • Many reasons. It was slow paced, super defensive, incredibly unbalanced, it had random tripping, the only combos were chain grabs, it removed Mewtwo, and more. The only good thing was Adventure Mode.

  • I agree and as a matter of fact, i just played it today, one day people will realize just how much of a great game it is, and how much hard work was put into it.

  • Some were also bothered by the change in artsyle to a more realistic and drab color pallet.

  • Brawl isnt bad, but if I had to place it among the other Smash games, it be the lowest. A few reasons. Tripping is to easy, but I think the online killed it. They focused alot on online play, which was dreadful. And mechanically, Melee felt smoother. Brawl became more of an adventure platformer for me then a fighting game.

  • Connor pretty much summed it up. Even though Brawl is my favorite game in the series, I can recognize and understand why people dislike it. I feel like post-Metaknight ban the meta was a lot better, but it was still unbalanced. That said, Melee is really unbalanced too (only about 8 viable characters).

  • The Graphics were not Fit for Nintendo's style, and Gameplay is much slower than it precessor,Super Smash Bros Melee, fans returning from Melee were disappointed from the lack of the "WaveDashing"technique, and that the game was slowed down for beginners.a few characters were missing from past installments like Dr.Mario,Roy,Mewtwo,Young Link, and Pichu.Sakurai tryed to make Brawl more realistic,

  • The horrid online, and the unfunny tripping BS made it my most disliked Smash. Sm4sh is kiiinda a close second, but not because of the roster.

  • I don't understand how people rank Brawl lower than Smash 64. Sure, it was the game that started it all, but in terms of raw quality, 64 doesn't hold a candle to Brawl.

  • I can't enjoy it simply because of how boring it is. Horribly slow gameplay. Gray-tone colors everywhere. Meh stages. Fundamentally flawed adventure mode. Terrible online. Underwhelming and unbalanced roster overall, and missing Melee vets. Smash64 and Brawl are the worst of SSB. I'd rank Smash64 higher because I at least have good memories from it, despite it not aging well whatsoever.

  • Everyone pretty much pointed out why I wasn't a fan either… Dull Gritty Colours (for some reason) Random Tripping (yaaay e .e") Slow Pacing (it was sadly noticeable too…) Subspace (never grew on me, sorry guys…) Still, to Brawls credit it did one or two things right, I actually preferred the new dodge mechanic it introduced (kill me Melee fans :v), and it introduced one of my mains (Sonikku!)
