How'd you rebalance? Mario

I've been wanting to gauge the community's opinion. If you were given the task of character balancing, what would you change? Today's subject is Mario. Only one guideline, keep the character's gameplay concept in mind. So don't go giving Bowser mobility equal to Sheik's. Beyond that, there's no wrong answers! And 'I would change nothing' is a fine answer, too!

  • Changing the aspect of one of Mario's tilts doesn't completely change the "character's concept". Anyway, his up tilt should be altered in some way.

  • I know, Daniel, that wasn't directed at you, I just wanted to make sure the 45 frames onto U-tilt that mthcg mentioned was serious or not. I'm fine with the idea of changing it a few frames, but 45 is honestly nuts.

  • I would speed up the cape because long ranged shots like Lucario's Aura Sphere or Mewtwo's Shadow Ball hit me sometimes even though I used the cape.

  • Guns. 'Cause you can't say Mario without guns, right? Of course not. What am I thinking? I agree with a slight U-tilt nerf, though I'd personally increase the knockback growth a few points, so it'd stop combo'ing sooner instead of combo less consistently. On the flipside, I'd also buff his F-tilt's base knockback. His F-tilt's kinda useless right now, IMO.

  • I was originally going to say increase his knock back instead of end lag, but then he would be more like Dr. Mario. People already complain about them being too similar (even though they are pretty different).

    Maybe decrease the damage of his u-tilt, Up Smash and F-Smash. Have Nair have more damage to it slightly and, Fludd could do some damage and have a slight knockback.

  • Mario's up tilt, down throw and up air need more knockback growth. Just so his combos require effort to pull off. Also, add maybe three more frames of startup to back air and F-Smash, and 5 more frames of end lag to all of his Smash attacks so he can't just roll away after using them. And also decrease his weight a little while we're at it.
