Help please!!

I don't have enough space in my system to update it and I can't delete anything because I already did. How do I get the update to go into a USB I have connected?

    I only own the 3ds version, but I dont think u can trasfer updates to a usb or sd card. Tell me, is ur game a physical or digital copy? Cause digital copies may hurt your chances as they take up alot of memory.
