How Do I Become a Better Fighter in SSB

Hi, This is a question I've been meaning to ask for a while ...........How do you get better at SSB? I'm an 'ok' player but I think I can be better! Please comment any tips and tricks that would work. - Kat

  • I know it sounds cliché, but just keep practicing. If you want to have fun, just play as characters you like rather than those you think are strong. After a while of playing as your favourite character, you will make up your own combinations and tactics. Remember just have fun! :)

  • Predicting opponents moves, keep them guessing and look for openings well it works for me anyway.

  • I agree with Chris, sm4sh isn't a game where people can tell you how to get better, it's a game of self practicing, eventually you will learn some cool things, pick a character you're comfortable with not top tier or anything. (And if you want more tips go on youtube, search ZeRo and he has a video that can give you tips) P.S. ZeRo is the number one sm4sh bros. champ.

  • Keep practicing is the big one, of course. The second is the psychological side. Once you figure out how to observe your opponent and adapt accordingly, your play will improve with leaps. Also, if you start digging into the competitive side of Smash, there's a ton you can learn. I don't know if you are interested in competitive play, but a there's a lot that can help you improve regardless.

  • Things like Shorthop, Fastfall, Directional Influence, Pivotting and B-reversing are all rather simple and basic things that can drastically improve your game once you get them down and figure out how your character can benefit from them. If you haven't already, the first of those three in particular I'd strongly recommend anyone to look into. They will improve your game no matter what.

  • @Uncertain no fighting lvl9cpu is useless. even in melle the bestlvl to train is around lvl5 .why? beceause you can train your combo with it.... lvl9cpu can do things at frame perfect like grab or worst:counter. its challenging but not go for TRAINING
