why are some people so serious in this game

recently i encountered some quite serious players acting as if this isnt even a game. While i do participate in tournaments can someone explain why they take this so serious. Im talking about the kind of taunt inturpting people who have no fun.

    Some people get a bit carried away when playing. It's a shame too - people seem to play better when their enjoying the game.

    When a match starts, I immediately make a move out of instinct, especially if I'm using a character with a projectile. I try not to hit people who taunt as the match starts, but I often end up doing it on accident anyway, and then I feel like a huge jerk.
