1. If you use a medium or lightweight character, look for deadly combos that work well to prepare for the finishing blow. (Ex. Yoshi's Pound into a egg, side kick, and down air.) 2. If you have a predictable character, come up with ways to trick your opponent. (Yoshi jumping out of shield.) 3. Be aggressive and defensive. Continued in comments.

    Continued... (Don't jump out with Little Mac and fall while the other opponents gets back in, or don't roll the whole game.) 4. Use custom characters based on cooperation with levels. (If levels are hard in some way make it easier and use it to your advantage. If you choose random, use something your all around with.) 5. Don't let anything interrupt your game. (Turn devices, tv, etc. off.)
