Up smash spamiibo

My level 37 Mewtwo amiibo likes to spam Up smash when `her` opponents are in the air, Yet I don't do this, and I also have a Level 50 Link amiibo who does this... Anyone know why and how to get them to not have a habbit of doing this?

  • Online I see many people doing this. I guess it's a basic technique and I guess amiibo won't (quickly?) stop using them. Maybe you should try using the same character against them and use something else, for example Link's bombs.

  • Okay, I'll try that on Link, but with my Mewtwo amiibo, I have tried spamming Special netural and down.... still doing it.

  • I don't know much about how the amiibo AI, but it would seem to me that they adjust their tactics to include techniques that they know are useful for that situation. If you're interested in changing its behavior, you should make those techniques fail more often than not. Try dodging away from the smash, for instance, and it may come to realize that move may not be as effective as it thought.

  • i heard of a stage that was created to stop amiibo from spamming up smash i dont remember the name. or you could try this trick: prepare a 3 person smash battle the 3 should consist of your amiibo for example : your Link you using the same character as your amiibo and a level 1 donkey kong cpu( because of the large hitbox) set a team up of 2v1 you and link vs DK 2-5 stock match

  • when you start fight DK like normal but don't try to use up smash alot try to combo different moves and prioritize on what moves you want your amiibo yo do after around 3 games you should start seeing a difference. How does this work?Basically when you land different hits combos etc. and K.O. DK the amiibo will pick up and learn that "these are the moves that KO my opponent in turn they learn.
