Last time I checked, he was sealed away by the power of the seven sages, not by the power of the Triforce. If he was, he would never have escaped, as the Triforce is ultimately more powerful than the seven sages, and its power wouldn't have weakened so easily, compared to the power of the sages, who aren't an apparently omnipotent triad of golden triangles...
