The first step to getting good at Smash

is realizing you're bad. Hear me out I'm not trying to insult anyone. When you think you're good and have nothing new to learn, you stop getting better, you stop trying to learn. So you need to put your ego aside. When you have a big ego you start making excuses for when you lose. Save replays where you lose and think "How could I have done better?"

That was the first step for me. More importantly though, the secound step is to stop and think before you make a move. For a game that is based around sensless smash Smash Brothers has a surprising amount of stratagem.
