DLC Sucks

Who agrees that the updates are horrible with DLC? Why not make them free? Not that DLC junk.

that's a pretty poor comparison. dlc is optional, pages in a book r not if u want to read the whole story.

Yeah and if you don't want to waste money than you either reread it and make up the pages or throw it away. I mean I loved playing Smash until the DLC and now I can't enjoy the new updates.

DLC has a bit of contravercy around it. Most companies abuse it, when the original concept was to add content to an otherwise finished game. DLC was ment to extend a games interest with extra content. But it cant be free, as it takes money to make games. The DLC here is optional, and I feel done right. Not for DLC, we may have never got the likes of Cloud, Corrin an so-on.

Dude you can buy a character for like 4 bucks the DLC isn't that bad.

Depends on how it's done. If it was made post-release, it's OK. If it was made and FINISHED pre-release, then taken out so that it could be sold as DLC, or is a preorder bonus, then it's bad. Of course, if the DLC causes a major glitch that corrupts people's save files (Mewtwo), then it's a problem no matter when it was made or how much it costs.

@WolfPack20 The DLC started development AFTER the game was finished and it's not free because if so it would be a waste of money. If you don't like the DLC tough get over it.

@denzel, that mewtwo glitch was fixed rather quickly if i remember. it was also the first time nintendo had really done something like that, so a few hiccups were expected.

The money the characters introduced in the dlc extras make might help decide which smash 4 vets and newcomers makes it into smash 5 in my opinion

I do hate the fact that it took a lot of the charm Smash had away. You used to have to work hard to earn this stuff in game. We've been so enveloped in DLC characters as of late, everything else has suffered also. Classic is trash, Master/Crazy orders trash, Smash Tour/Run trash. (Smash Run's a GREAT start, didn't go further) No Adventure mode. Tourney mode's not local. Could've been improved imo.

@WinterShak, I think internet is a bit to blame. Not often do fighting games have any unlockable characters, due to people reseaching online about everything in game. Becomes a little less rewarding. So its mo surprise there's little to unlock aside from trophies. The new modes are ok. still miss break the target.

I'm fine with DLC in this case because it was all developed after the main game was completed and released. I understand your mentality with the book comparison, but Smash 4 is still complete without the DLC. You can't just expect them to make all of this new content without some sort of compensation.

I think the reason you have to pay for DLC is because the developers have to be compensated for their work. Just be glad they aren't using DLC the same way Ubisoft, EA or Capcom did.

Gage: 1: That's was a major hiccup. A minor hiccup would be some of his movss not working properly. Causing a game-ruining glitch isn't a minor hiccup, and fixing it doesn't make up for the problems it caused. 2: Nintendo has done DLC before. They've been doing it since either PKMN genwun or Gen 2. There's no excuse for what Sakurai let happen.
