People need to learn how to play.

Now that I have your attention, a lot of people have been using certain characters for one reason, and that reason is usually done incorrectly. Before you say "People have different playstyles", that reason is usually the SAME reason. It just upsets me when I see a genuinely good character worn down to a coward, running away at every attack.

  • Last post, so I'm making it count: I've seen a lot of people spamming, camping, taunting, all this stuff that just shows they only use those characters because they're easy and safe to use. They wouldn't even try if they weren't like that. That's what happened when Luigi's D-throw was nerfed. SO many people dropped him, and that's upsetting (to me at least.)

  • Whats wrong with taunting? Its a sign of respect at the start of matches and generally any other time they use it because they pulled off an incredible kill or respecting said person who got the kill.

  • I use 'low teir' characters mostly since all 3 of my favorites characteristics that I like, but I can see were you're going here, Star. I assume you've come across some salty opponents?

  • It's FD. It's practically made for spamming. Even the pros know this. Hate FD, not the characters. People are too used to playing there.

  • @Logyon Taunting at the start of a match is fine and completely respectable, but when you taunt after a kill without your opponent taunting first to say that the stock take was nice and they liked it, that's just disrespectful, and it's what the OP is talking about.

  • I don't want to sound like a Melee elitist or something, but some of this stuff wouldn't be a problem if we had more combos and a higher learning cap, because with Smash4 we only have auto combos, so the only real skill is reading and mind games(Minus Bayo, Peach, Greninja, Ryu and pretty much any character that makes good use of footstools, these guys have insane combos).

  • sure. but donnt forget that fun is to be made and not be butthurt cause he/she didnt do X thing like you see in the videos thinking that they should abide to that. what if they dont want to take this game serious and just play how they want? sure you can sit on your high horse and call yourself pro smashers but quit being selfish and think about the casuals that dont take this game serious.

  • Well i find it true that some people are stupid at the game (One time a guy played as Diddy K and he tried to jetpack into me at the start and fell off the stage X2) But i don't really hate them for being bad yes i get annoyed when i see someone playing Ryu not doing the button commands but...Hey easy win right?

  • I just wait until I find a solid player, then keep playing against them and maybe send a friend request. Don't get frustrated over spammers. If you can fight them well, do it. If not, don't waste effort on them.

  • I can't help but feel that cowardly play may be referring to projectile heavy characters. Zoning with never get the respect it deserves...
