EASTER EGG!!!!!! Wait too long on the menu, then the the music will stop, and Mario will decide to play the game on his own! This has happened multiple times, with Mario cycling throught the same events before dying and returning to the menu. If one of your Amiibos has this game, maybe you could try and see it for yourself! This occured when choosing two-player, but it may not be the only way.

It's just the game showing the "demo" of the game if you wait to long. Like the original Sonic the Hedgehog, wait to long and it'll show you a demo of a zone.
