ok. ok. why is it always the mother in anime. in Attack on Titan, his mother dies in the first episode. in RWBY, Ruby's mother was already gone. and in this new one i literally just started, his mother dies. they don't deserve this

It's typically because they're too unoriginal to create ways of making an audience feel some sort of sorrow for the character, so they just make them an orphan. All kinds of media-entertainment does it, so it's basically a cliché at this point.
