Should I get a New 3DS?

The corner of the 3DS that links the two screens appears cracked to the point that the system clicks when closing. The crack appears to have gone far, both in front and back. I was a bit upset. Considering getting a new 3DS, but not sure if the problem is that server enough to get a new system.

  • Note: when opening or closing the 3ds,the crack opens up. The crack is around the power light and R button. It's not preventing me in playing any games, but I worry one day it will just fall off. and prevent the screen from keeping still.

  • Thank u all for your help. I have contacted my local game repair place. They actually suggested it be cheaper to get a newer model. I guess 3ds systems are harder to fix then consoles. I may try and contacting Nintendo seeing if its possible to fix.But seeing how its a 2 maybe 3 year old system, not sure if iI can extend my warranty.

  • if you don't want to lose your data in game just save your old 3ds and if you get a new one do a data transfer

  • data was one of the reasons that i didnt want to quite upgrade just yet. As Im not surehow complex the data transfer is. My current 3ds isnt unplayable, but I worry it would just fall apart one day and become pretty much harder to use.

  • Maybe I should trade up. Get some money off the old system and use it for something else. I'll just see what Nintendo has to say first before I make a decision.

  • Ok, I found the site, but Nintendo doesnt give me any prices on repairs. It also asks that I sign into a Nintendo account, but all Im looking for is answers. I did get an account, but the site is not proving helpful. Im stuck at the serial number page.

  • I got ahold of Nintendo finally. And they gave me a price for repairs. They are sending out a package so I can send them my system. They say if it's unfixabke, they'll replace it. And they tell me data transfer shouldn't be a problem.
