frame during fox troting to increase grab range or sliding f smash?

has anyone notice there is about a 3 second frame during fox trot where u can input a late pivot grab and slide like crazy or pivot attack/back smash attack. A good example of this is fox who seems to not care at all and just slides around with a late pivot grab during fox trotting or speed monodo shulk with a turn around f-smash

  • Can I ask you something? Are you able to perform perfect pivots consistently? I have been trying to peform them for a few days, and most of the time I just end up sliding while in the dashing position when I turn around! Do you just flick the control stick left or right, and let the control stick return to the neutral position by itself?

  • yes i can perform them normally and don't worry it takes a while to get the feel for it to perfect pivot u input <> neutral position which is left right then neutral position or right left neutral position ( you have to input it really quick ) or u can do the way i do it but hasn't ever been talked about the input i do is left right any tilt attack

  • the input i do is probably a more faster required input and can be performed both ways like normal perfect pivot another way if u dont like inputting either of those is left right down of right left down which will allow u to do a crouching perfect pivot which is most optional with characters such as jigglypuff kirby and sheik note the left right any tilt input or right left tilt will do a

  • perfect pivot but will immediately do the tilt as well ( which means u will use less frames during attacking as in less frames leaving u open for a opponent to attack. If u chose to do left right any tilt or right left any tilt input )

  • Yeah, I think imputting the grab while pivoting makes things easier, but then you can't use any other moves! How long did take you before you really managed to get the hang of perfect pivots? I've been using the gc controller as well. I've also watched a video on My Smash Corner to see the control imputs! Lastly, I only have 4 or 5 posts left for today, just so you know.

  • i would say about 5-10 weeks to get the feel for it so about 2 months and probably 2 weeks to just get the timing down correctly ( i use gc controller as well ) also if u do the left right down or right left down the crouching perfect pivot allows u to optimise any tilt attacks immediately instead of doing a perfect pivot grab

  • and if u go to tourneys u can always ask the commentators what you could do better or ask for cover options so if u ever want to do apex i believe they're having one this year like normal u can ask the person commentating on ur match which will most likely be D1 again this year οωο or if ur at a local tourney you can do the same or try to reach out to players like amsa
