    For the name tag click the Player 1 at the bottom of the screen in the character select

    3DS or Wii U? on Wii U click bottom of your P1. (Or jusy your player. On 3DS change your mii nickname.

    I figured it out guys, i had to change the user name on system settings under user ID! Thanks anyways. It was for my 3DS by the way!!

    ...sorry, not user ID, you need to go to system settings, then you need to go to other settings and change user name!
