Where do rupees come from? Seriously, this bugs me. They are found in grass, rocks, trees, and even inside creatures. Where do they come from? How are they made? How did the Zelda universe begin using them as currency? How did they determine the value based on color? There are a lot of unanswered questions about the rupee I would love to know. Then again, we may never know. Maybe one day.

I think they get everywhere because of the Picori. The tiny people from Minish Cap.

  • The Minish like to leave Rupees and other items hidden in the grass, rocks, and pots for adventurers to find.

  • UGH. That "matpat" guy is so annoying. :U Literally ANY of his "theorys" can be disproven within 10 minutes of research. ._. Rupees ARE NOT Corundum. Corundum has a mohs hardness of 9, yet a simple SEED from Link's slingshot is enough to make a perfectly formed Rupee break off. -_-

Uhmm......you forget. There Deku seeds, which make them MAGIC! Case closed. But seriously, I do see your point. Theres truly no way that the seed should break them so easily. His videos are entertaining though. Loved his Rosalina theory. Messed up, but intriguing.

  • i was kidding!! any idiot knows that!!!

  • I've always wondered this too. How are these gem like things not valued higher? Well, for a more serious answer, let's get into some economics. Value for each color would be determined by quantity. There must be lots of green rupees, so they are valued very low, since they are so common. As we go up, through blue, red, silver, purple, and any other colors I'm forgetting, they would get

  • more and more rare, and so that would be why their value goes up and up.
