Unnecessary characters in Smash.

Which characters do you think we're shoehorned into Smash Bros?

Dr Mario and Dark Pit also Lucina even if I use her (she's my third character) but the doc and the angel are useless for Sm4sh you can create them on Custom now

Basically half of the characters are unnecessary. Of course Villager is unnecessary, so is Pac Man and Jigglypuff. But physically, all characters are unnecessary, but realistically, the whole game is unnecessary But I love the game! Wait, is this off topic, well sorry if it is....

Ryu. Didn't need to be in 2 fighting games, plus we have Mega-Man to represent Capcom.

Even so, the game was put together for everyone to enjoy battling with Nintendo's all stars. It just frustrates me that people aren't ever satisfied after they have already been given so much and were even allowed to have input in the Smash Ballot. They didn't have to ask for our input at all.

@ Patrick I agree some players complain too much about many of the characters. If the game wasn't as awesome as it is, nobody would be so passionate about these debates. If a player doesn't like a fighter, they don't have to use them. If one character was added, there would be complaints about why another wasn't added instead. But the roster is now, like it or not, unchangeable. (Until Smash 5)

I feel like WFT is exempt since Sakurai always puts a joke character in every Smash game. Mr. Game & Watch, R.O.B., and WFT are examples of this.

Just curious, but why would you find Villager and Olimar unnecessary, same said with Palutena, though there were Kid Icarus reps before her, but Villager reps Animal Crossing and Olimar reps Pikmin, why would they be unnecessary, as these are opinions, a Pikmin rep and an Animal Crossing rep seem necessary enough to me, and Palutena seemed necessary too in my opinions, but the rest, I can agree.

I look at there respective games (although some I haven't played). •Wii Fit Trainer: She exercises •The villager: He explores, catches bugs, and decorated his house •Olimar: He explores (Pikman defeat monsters for him) •Rosalina/Luma: She rides galactic space ship (however she made cameo in Super Mario 3D World) •Palutena: She's mostly a supporting character

•Duck Hunt Dog: All he does is retrieve ducks and laugh at you (oh I which I could shoot him in that game, but at least we can beat him up in Smash Bros.) •Game and Watch: All his games are mini games So it seemed the creators were short of ideas and added characters to fill out the roster. If I misrepresented some of the characters let me know since, like I said, I haven't played all games.

You can actually shoot the Duck Hunt Dog in the arcade version of the game. And technically also in Barker Bill's Trick Shooting where he makes an appearance.

1: And who tells the Pikmin what to do so they don't get rekt? 2: Palutena is the main reason Pit can fight (before Viridi shows up), and she's also a boss in Uprising. 3: That wasn't a cameo. A cameo would be G&W's appearance in DKCR in level Factory-1. In SM3DW, Rosalina was a fully playable character with a unique trait of her own like every other character.

Duck Hunt, because it's in there for nostalgia. Lucina/Roy, both clones and both FE. Dr. Mario, because it's just a slightly-patched Mario. Dark Pit, because it's a custom-fighter Pit. Jigglypuff, because it's Kirby without strength and with cheap tactics. Toon Link, because it's faster Link. Lucas, because it's a custom-fighter Ness. Palutena, because we already have Robin. Those are my choices.
