Why don't Yoshi, Wario, DK, Metroid, Animal Crossing, Pikmin and Kirby have more reps?

I thought they deserved more reps than what they got.

    Metroid: the "Sonic" of Nintendo. Started out GREAT, then went to games like Other M Wario: That's a good question BUT you can't say Waluigi since that'd be a Mario rep and Ashley (only legit option) is an assist trophy DK: Only option is Dixie, Cranky or K.Rool and ONE of the 3 is a dead character while the 2nd is BEST as a semi-clone Yoshi: WHO ELSE Animal Crossing: WHO ELSE Pikmin: WHO ELSE

    He was gonna be one of the 3 most nonunique clones (Lucina, Dr.Mario, Dark Pit) then was swapped out as an alt. by one of the 3.

    Also FE would deserve 6 characters since it's popular in Japan. Lucas proves that he cares about Japan too since his game is Japan only. But why didn't Melee and Brawl have 4 or 5 reps like Mario and Pokemon did?

    I would argue about including Simon Belmont from the Castlevania series, but that's not a Nintendo franchise. It also doesn't help that Konami's days of making video games are deader than Dracula, and show no sign of being resurrected any time soon!

    DK, Metroid and Kirby -fully agreed. Yoshi -ehhh. If Kamek wasn't part of a stage, he'd be cool addition IMO. Pikmin -Not really much to do here. Because the crux of the franchise is covered. They could separate Olimar and Alph, but they would be semi-clones at best. Animal Crossing -don't know much about it, but I think Villager rounds it up so well there's no room for another. Wario -well.

    Well, I don't use him a lot, but it is possible that Sakurai just picked characters from SOME of the successful franchises because they'd be good fighters and he's never considered other DK, Kirby and Metroid characters.

    Nah, if Sakurai WANTED to remove Olimar like that, he would've NEVER made his trophies in Melee, and kept him over more popular characters (Wolf) in Brawl
