    Nah. Kid Icarus ain't getting another game anytime soon. If Kid Icarus is getting any new characters, it needs to be a new Dark Pit that isn't a clone.

    Yeah. Kid Icarus needs another fighter. @Dark: It doesn't matter if Kid Icarus gets a new game or not. Look at Duck Hunt duo, Pac Man and R.O.B. They come from retro, dead franchises. Also, Dark Pit isn't 100% a clone. They have different ←→ specials and Final Smashes. If Viridi and Chrom were in Smash then all Palutena's Guidence characters would be in a Smash Game.

    Also it doesn't matter how successful franchises are. Sakurai picked all the characters because they'd be good fighters and he's never considered other characters from the less successful franchises.

    @Bessie Those dead franchises only have one character each, each character being classic and pretty recognized to this day (With the exception of R.O.B. who was likely added purely for being innovative). Kid Icarus already has three characters. Considering Sakurai himself said he doesn't plan for another Kid Icarus game gor twenty years, I don't think Kid Icarus should have any more characters.

    And Sakurai doesn't pick all the characters purely because they'd be good fighters. There's a lot of variables such as popularity among fans, relevance (believe it or not), iconism, ect. I'm sure there are plenty of other reasons he has for adding characters, but I'm not gonna speak for him.

    And even if success mattered, they've already overrepresented Kid Icarus with three reps, three stages, Palutena's Guidance, lots of trophies and tons of Smash Run enemies. I don't think one more rep would make things much worse.
