People that only hate characters such as Lucina/Dark Pit for being clones

No really, despising a character for having the same Moveset as another character is just dumb.

  • I agree! TBH, I prefer the clones over the originals.

  • Having the same general structure but different nuances isn't inherently bad,

  • It's not because of their move sets, it's because for 2 out of the 3 characters in that case, the originals prove to be far superior to the clones. It's only Dark Pit that recently got buffs that allowed him to rival Pit. There's no reason to use Dr. Mario and Lucina over Mario and Marth competitively other than character loyalty, and that's not even a real thing anyways.

wrong dude, depends on how a player uses Marth or Lucina, that determine's their strenghths in battle, and Lucina's blade will do more damage throughout the entire sword: while Marth's blade will inflict the most damage toward the tip.

  • I do disagree with clones statement mainly because they should either have their own moveset or very different physics. Dark Pit could have been great if he used his gun-staff rather a bow and his side-b could have either been Pit's old one or have a paralyzing effect. Lucina could have been a character like Roy who is not as fast as Marth, but is stronger (No Roy DLC).

  • Shiv, I ACTUALLY disagree with that. SOME people can favor Dr. Mario & Lucina more that Mario & Marth. I mean look at Liquid Nairo, who uses Lucina & Dr. Mario. I myself also favor Dr. Mario & Lucina for competitive play. Everyone has their own tastes.

  • Cannot hear that "clone" rubbish anymore. People are stupid. That's all.

  • Falco and Toon Link are examples of clones done right, both possessing similar moves, but there are altercations and completely different physics that tailor to a different fighting style. If a character's differences are so subtle that only people who closely examine them will notice, they should just be an alternate costume like the Koopalings or Male Robin.

  • When people call fighters clones it reall destroys the characters purposes of being in the game.

  • I consider Falco and Toon Link semi-clones. They have a similar moveset to another character but play almost completely differently.

  • @Ronan: I feel that is the way Dark Pit and Lucina should have been handeled with Dark Pit being a stronger more technical Pit with slower speed and a gun-staff rather than a bow. And Lucina (for lack of a better term) could have been the middle man between Ike and Marth; being faster than Ike and stronger than Marth (No need for Roy) and her attack could be a mix of fast jabs and heavy swings.

  • Glurp speaks the truth. Dr. Mario I can give a pass to since he has different attributes (weight, running speed, knockback angles, etc) and all 4 of his specials bear some difference to Mario's (Pills are different, Up B is in between Mario's and Luigi's, Cape is a bit longer but less wide, and Down B is completely different). Lucina/Dark Pit are so similar they should've stayed skins imo.

  • Dr Mario is fine. I don't really mind Lucina and Pittoo, but I think they could change some stuff about them. For Dark Pit: Make him slower and weaker on ground, faster and stronger mid-air. Give few different attributes to his normal moves, replace Up B with Pit's Brawl Up B and Down B with Angel Ring. Lucina: Make her a bit slower than Marth. Give her a variety of different moves from Marth...

  • because while Doc and Pittoo kinda make sense having many similar moves because former is same person and latter literal copy Lucina is entirely different person. Keep her Side and Down B similar to Marth, give her Aether for Up B (weaker, but more range than Ike's) because she always has that ability in Awakening and make Neutral B something exclusive to her.

  • Do people not realize they were last minute choices!? That's like the whole reason they're in the game as clones in the first place!!!

  • I'd rather have a big roster with 3 full clones rather than a smaller roster with no clones unlike you hypocrites

  • I disagree because Dark Pit plays an important role in Kid Icarus Uprising with Pit. I'm not sure if Lucina is like that too, but i know Dr Mario isn't, he has his own game.

  • Lucina is really important in fire emblem awakening. Also she was only inspired by Marth but she had no contact to him cause between them are more than 1000 years. She learned how to fight from her father Chrom. Therefore I think she deserves her own character slot but also an own moveset.
