Question

Non Online Tournament Possibility?

This may sound dumb but hear me out. I have terrible Internet for playing SSB on, however a friend of mine is hosting our usual smash fest, and he has decent Internet. My question is this: While requiring Internet to set up is it possible to fill up a tournament with only local players?

    i wish they would! i loved making my own tourneys in BRAWL But now its kinda all online Point being... i agree.

    Yeah with SSB's goal equal focus on group play and online play I'm surprised that they didn't include an offline version. I would think with ssb competitions becoming more popular I'd think if they included offline tourney it would only encourage competitions and by extension more publicity and money made.

    Don't get me wrong I am not a Sakurai hater by any means imo there is not another director out there who puts more thought into making a game that will be pleasing to a large diverse crowd of players. He makes games the way the used to be made in that if you only bought the game and nothing else you didn't feel like you were getting cheated with only 1/2 a game.

    Yeah no one can say that any of the ssb games are light on content *cough* EA's SW BF3 *cough*. Don't get me wrong there are things I wish were in like tourney mode, a sub space like story mode, and Snake, but they pail in comparison to what we got in return. I mean how many developers read fan bases and then make any possible adjustments. Heck he even included a ballot for us to vote on whom

    We'd like to have as a playable fighter. Who else has in gaming industry has ever dome something even remotely similar? And what did he get for in? Nothing but salt and hate. Not constructive criticism but angry trolls. I worry about stuff like that getting to him because in interviews says that all the whiners just sap his joy out of his work and he wants to quit. Imo I think he will go down

    As one of the best game developers of all time. Have all of his decisions been great? No. But he has made more good moves that bad ones. I just wish there was a way to let Sakurai know to keep up the work and that there is a larger army of his supporters than the smaller yet more vocal troll hord.

    I guess I can't really think of any mistakes on his part. I mean online only tourneys and by your former post you'd agree no wolf aren't awesome but not mistakes either. I figured I needed to insert that so that I didn't sound like a complete fan boy but rather an objective commentator.
