Oh. Apparently the "Lost Memory Synthesizer" item in Xenoblade Chronicles X is a reference to Gem Crafting in the original game. That stings. Really, it does. Gem Crafting for me was genuinely enjoyable, and to have it replaced with the incredibly tedious resource-gathering needed for augment-crafting and to have its removal acknowledged like that is really unpleasant.
