Of All Five Super Smash Bros. Games, Which Is Your Favorite?

Just a question I thought I'd open up for anyone in the community. When telling your favorite, if you can, tell me why you like it out of the whole bunch. I'll give my answer in the comments later, but that's because I've only played Brawl, 3DS, and Wii U.

SSB4 because of the combos and amount of challengers there are online.

  • Wii U because the roster and stages go over my expectations

  • Brawl. Smash U =/= Smash 5. We've already had this discussion, kage. Unless you can present a source that says otherwise, you're wrong.

  • Cool answers, everyone! Keep going, but I guess I'll say that, of the three I played, I always preferred Brawl and Wii U. 3DS is still fun, I just don't play on it as often.

  • @Denzel, I already did and you ignored it just like you ignore all facts for your opinion. You can call the game whatever you like but im going to stick to what the creator calls it.

  • Brawl, mainly for its story mode

  • Why do people call the 3DS and Wii U versions two different games? They are two versions of the same game, so both are Smash 4.

  • I don't know, Patrick. People just called it that, so I thought everyone went with it. That said, I see where you're coming from. I'll try to remember that. Thanks!

  • Maybe it had to do with the fact the 3DS version came out first, but that doesn't necessarily make them entirely different games.

  • Exactly. I thought that made sense, but I suppose they do have a lot of similarities. Any sources for either side, just out of curiosity?

  • Not really. I haven't seen confirmation one way or the other, but any time there was a Smash Direct, both versions were discussed collectively as if it were the same game. They both have the same selection of characters, some different stages based on capabilities, and all except one or two modes are the same.

  • Well, I guess whatever Nintendo says goes. Thanks for the FYI!

  • 1. Sakurai consideres the Wii U version as his 5th installment 2. I didn't PAY for 1 game with 2 versions. I payed for 2 different games on 2 different systems 3. Both versions have enough diversity besides roster to be considered 4. Different release dates 5. Different data, hardware 6. I convinced this to be a gaming fact 7. Massive difference in controller options, stages and Miiverse support

  • Oh, pretty good point, too! Well, I guess I'll take the middle way and consider them either/or. Thanks!
