Sakurai doesn't like cutting characters.

Let me ask all of you this. How many of you expected Lucario, Ike, Toon Link, and Dr. Mario to return? Many fans (myself included) expected Dr. Mario and Toon Link to become alts. and Lucario and Ike to be replaced with a 5th/6th gen. Pokemon and a new FE character. Yet they ALL returned plus more.

    We got Lucario AND Greninja plus Ike AND Robin. That confirms that characters don't get replaced.

    And before you bring up Lucario and Ike replacing Mewtwo and Roy in Brawl keep in mind that data was found for the latter in the game's data.

    I can only hope this means there wil be no cuts the next Smash game in the series. Especially all the FE characters,Shulk, and Cloud! I've grown way too attached. I even feel bad when I beat someone who has the same mains as me! Like good Ikes, Roys,and Marths. So Roy and Ike or Shulk disappearing from my roster would disappoint
